Yesterday, Baxter went to the lake for the afternoon. He looked so cute in his little life vest! He loved riding on the boat but did NOT enjoy swimming in the water. His favorite parts of the day were sunbathing himself and playing with the ropes that were lying around onboard. He reminds me of Captain Stubing from the Love Boat.

Baxter and I haven’t updated our blog lately because work, vacation, and life in general has gotten in the way. Baxter seems to have grown into a little man in just a few weeks!

Baxter absolutely loves all 543 of his toys. He loves getting new ones and driving everyone around him nuts by squeaking them for hours at a time.

Both of the dogs hide under the bed when we are about to leave the house for the day. Shyler is just getting in place because she sleeps there. Baxter runs under there so we can’t grab him and put him in his kennel. He just can’t be trusted on his own yet…

The dogs got some antlers for a treat because Baxter needed something to chew on besides fingers. Antlers are safer than bones because they don’t splinter and better than rawhides because they don’t gum up the insides. I love them because they keep Baxter busy for hours. The only drawback is when he sneaks up behind me, drops it on the hardwood floors, and scares me to death!

* No deers were harmed in the harvesting of the antlers. They are naturally shed.
